  1. Betsy Higgins says:

Actually, what he called her was not a shield, but a shill. "One who poses as a satisfied customer or an enthusiastic gambler to dupe bystanders into participating in a swindle." or " To act as a shill for (a deceitful enterprise)." What a bully, and nasty at that.

  2. Betsy Higgins says:

A shill……I had to go look it up.

  3. Obama's sided with Monsanto you Marxist idiot.

  4. I'm sure Mr O'Leary owns a ton of Monsanto stock shares. Good for you Ms. Parent! He wants to change your mind so his stock doesn't go in the toilet when the world boycotts Monsanto.

  5. damien says:

Monsanto and GMO’s makers DON’T GIVE a SINGLE SHIT about feeding humanity. It was a chemical weapon companie for god sake ! The guy is so naive, he’s acting like a lobbyist himself, doesn’t he knows that once the gmo crops are outside it spreads and can pollenize organic crops or conventional ones, GMO food should be banned forever it’s like biotechnologie facism. that’s absolutely incredible. I’m glad i live in France.

  6. aefman says:

I think we all know who the shill is in this little exchange and it’s not the 14 yr old. O’leary is the pot calling the kettle black.

  7. So true. And that hopefully O'leary find out soon that we are not starving people in China. We are in Canada and shouldn't be forced to be lab rats. We are fortunate enough to have a choice in what we eat. We are just not given it because of people like him.

  8. Nicole Jungkunz says:

There are other ways to feed people than to fill them with junk…. "And we have been for decades" and our health has been getting worse for decades… if you want to eat non GMO you do have a choice grow some damn corn.

  9. I know it wouldn't grab ratings but I wish Kevin hadn't shown such uncomfortable restraint. I think this was an opportunity to educate a young girl (and potentially those who follow her) and it was let go simply so she could have her few minutes of media time. The most disheartening part is at the end when he asks if she were presented with new evidence would she be open to changing her mind and she chuckles as she answers a zealous "No!". She doesn't even understand how bad that is.

  10. Ryan Parsons says:

Hey Darryl Wright, this dude couldn't educate a dog. She should probably educate you on hybridization or the effects of capitalism on food over time. Do some googling on monsanto's corruption or watch Food Inc. Farmers need to be allowed to farm again. Currently non-gmo is the safest way to ear healthy. Apologies if any of this shocks you it will be alright when we fix these problems.

  11. Nice to see that you don't mind being a lab rat, along with O'Leary who thinks it's OK to feed lab rat food to starving people in poor countries. If GMO's are good for us then please explain why labelling is such a problem. A free country we live in yet governments protect the big companies while small farmers are pushed out of business….and where is the science that examines the nutritional value of the food?

  12. Caspar Mctaggart says:

yes, there may one day emerge some magical new evidence that will forever eliminate the need to test and label genetically modified organisms before they are introduced, for profit, into our food supply.

just like o'leary, you are refusing to hear her point. it really isn't that complex, gramps.

test it. label it. what is 'zealous' about that?!

  13. Caspar Mctaggart says:

Betsy Higgins o'leary is a shill for his own idiocy.

  14. Steve Wilson says:

O’Leary himself is a shill, representing the super wealthy. He harps on why scientific adavancement should be a good thing and it is. Monsanto, however, isn’t a philanthropic or a scientic organization. It’s a huge profit making chemical corporation and the only advancement they pledge allegiance to is corporate greed and not the human race. He presents romantic notions of fortifying foods to save poor malnourished people and lets the listener assume that is the reality and goal of Monsanto’s GMO food based venture. It surely is not They patent and control their product to assure their profits, as is their right. That however, illustrates their intent and goal-which imo is to create cast sums of weatlh by cornering the money chain associated with vast quantities of food.
Were GMO testing truly a well intended, thoroughly researched affort to produce plants with higher nutrtion and yields it would be one thing. Genetically enhancing natures own perfection would be wonderful and a great partnership. But to splice all of our soy and corn’s DNA so that it becomes a bilogical manufacturing plant of “RoundUp” is inherently and morally wrong!
Follow the money trail, that’s the only modifying Monsanto is interested in. I simply hate when huge powerful companies control even the very food we put into our mouths and tell us all is well, and spend massive amounts of money and paying lobbyists and lawyers to try and convince us of that.
This has been a contrived grand experiment with real people as the guinea pigs. It has not been subject to the rigorous scientific method that performs repeated tests, uses others to confirm results, and double blind tests and lngthy tie studies to accurately asses the outcome. It has been a company that brought us agent orange, DDT, and RoundUp now iserting and unleashing their toxins into the food supply of all mankind if they had their way.
It irks me and is an affront to human decency, when Mr. O’Early feigns dismay over people losing their eyesight for lack of vitamin A in largely rice diet. That would be like Marie Antoinette saying “Let them eat cake, just infuse it with vitamin A.” If he was tat concerned over the plite of starving people he should invest his billions in humanitarian relief efforts aimed at a pausible solution. What a greedy mouthpiece he is, completly devoid of any humanity and only full of lust for money and people bowing to his will.

  15. it's obvious O'Leary hasn't done any GMO homework… or maybe he has… which leaves me to wonder, what's in it for him? What legacy will he leave to future generations? What will HIS grandchildren think? Will he be satisfied with the fruits of his labors? This beautiful child is a radiant example of Grace, Courage and Honor. Many Blessings of Love and Protection for her and her family.

  16. Derek Wohlust says:

Never argue with a teenage girl.

  17. I would like to know how we can find out if Kevin O'Leary has stock in Monsanto. He had a limited line of questioning to begin with and it seems his tenets point in a favored direction towards the conglomerate. Sounds like an investor in greed to me. Anyone know how to find out?

  18. Shannon Richard says:

She is awesome. He doesn't get it at all. You don't gm the food but provide resources and better living conditions.

  19. What a condescending arse. He keeps attempting to put words in her mouth. He is a tool.

  20. Piero Amadeo Infante says:

That is one of the most dishonest, and dishonorable displays of both bias and bad information brought on by zero research, that I have ever seen by an adult so called "journalist".
O'leary should be banned from media for life. The lying, and double speak, and two faced attempts at manipulation he tries on this better spoken and far better presenting 14 year old are shocking.
Perhaps this spate of direct dishonesty and bold faced duplicity was brought on by the fact that O'leary OWNS 500,000 Shares of Monsanto.

  21. Joey Two-Slice says:

The hosts were projecting their very own shortcomings onto their guest, clearly unable to absorb or acknowledge the solid talking points of Rachel Parent. They got trumped on their own show because they themselves were shills to lazy and gullible to do their own research. Senile adults bringing knives to a gun fight because they're too lazy to reload :)

  22. Micaela Elise says:

he's an idiot. the plants are only this susceptible to insects because farmers are planting monocultures. companion planting solves that. the GMO's effect EVERYTHING negatively. this girl is amazing, more people need to speak up. she's an inspiration.
